Matglobe® Material
Databases
Matglobe® is a collection of material databases, including StahlDat SX, aluSELECT, and Copper key 2.0.
MMPDS-Database
The primary source of statistically-based design allowable properties for metallic materials.
FOSTA
The Research Association for Steel Application (FOSTA) is a non-profit and legally autonomous research association within the steel sector. As an association, it represents the interests of the steel industry – as well as those of the users of the material steel and its various products – in the field of application research.

In SEB special requirements of the steel industry are defined in order to standardize the planning, production, assembly and maintenance of metallurgical plants and thus to be able to carry out safely and economically. When designed according to SEB, interchangeability with regard to the connection dimensions is guaranteed. In addition to dimensions, materials and calculation methods, they also contain specifications for ordering, delivery and quality assurance. When they are cited, they can become part of contract documents.

SEP contain guidelines and information on the proper performance of tests for the determination of specific material properties on steels. Customers of the steel industry need such characteristics, e.g. for the execution of simulation calculations or protection and design of components (lightweight construction, conservation of resources). The task of the test sheets is to standardize test conditions in advance of the standardization so that the test results are comparable. SEPs are often incorporated into customer specifications and significantly reduce the burden on steel companies and users.

SEW and SEL serve to standardize the service properties of steels in the run-up to standardization. Both the knowledge and experience of the steel manufacturers and the steel users regarding the application are taken into account. The task of SEW and SEL is to describe the property profiles of steels for which standardization has not yet taken place, but which are of importance to steel producers, processors and customers of the steel industry. The purpose of this description is to enable the targeted use of the steels while gaining experience in their manufacture, supply and use of steels and their product forms.
