P 735 – Bonding Fresnel collectors to steel sheet substructure
NOVATEC BioSol solar power plant technology is based on the principle of Fresnel collector technology. It uses flat glass mirrors instead of parabolically curved mirror surfaces. 16 parallel lines of mirrors are arranged in such way to bundle reflecting solar energy into a caustic curve. This caustic curve has a receiver installed in which water is vaporized and then directed to a steam turbine. In the manufacturing process the flat mirrors shall be bonded on a sheet metall construction.
This FOSTA-project was carried out, to evaluate durability of bonded mirror to sheet joints. That`s why different typs of coated and stainless steel sheets were selected for strength and durability testing in combination with moisture curing fexible adhesives and flat glass mirrors.
