Description
This test specification applies exclusively to the automated ultrasonic immersion testing of appropriately prepared rolled or forged samples of steel for long products. It does not apply to austenitic, ferritic-austenitic and freemachining steels. It is to be applied on simple solid-material geometries (e.g. blocks and
cylinders) with a diameter or edge length of 35 mm to 100 mm as well as to larger dimensions for testing of the surface zone for sound paths of up to 50 mm.
