StahlDat and StahlDat SX are online databases for technical information on steel materials, which together with further information offers can be found at www.stahldat.de, www.steel-data.eu and www.stahldaten.de (hereinafter called ‘address’). A central component is the publication of the “Steel Iron List” as a result of the work of the European Steel Registry, Department of the Steel Institute VDEh in accordance with the specifications in EN 10027-2. Thus, the StahlDat SX is the leading database for steel in Europe. These “Terms of Use StahlDat SX” govern the use of the online databases available in the current version as well as all other online databases offered under the ‘address’ (all databases referred to below as ‘database’).

Represented by the managing director Uwe Diekmann Matplus GmbH has taken over the exclusive marketing rights of the database of the Steel Institute VDEh.
The Matplus GmbH is with the marketing of the “final reports of research projects from application research” (FOSTABerichte) commissioned by the Research Unit Steel Application FOSTA e.V. Unless otherwise specified in these Terms of Use, apply the General Terms and Conditions (GTC) and the privacy statement of Matplus GmbH.
2. Conclusion of contract
2.1. The contract for the use of the database by the customer (database usage contract) is as follows: After ordering in the online shop, by email, by letter or by fax on the desired database versions and modules, the contract with the transmission of access data for online access is closed.
2.2. The database usage contract begins with the transmission of the customer’s access data, but at the latest upon receipt of the invoice by the customer. The contract is extended automatically by 12 months if not canceled 30 days before expiration.
3. Scope / Availability
3.1. The database enables the digital retrieval of technical data and facts about steel materials and their technologies. The specific scope of service depends on the type of database version modules or licenses chosen by the customer.
3.2. The database is usable with current standard web browsers, e.g. Firefox, Chrome, the state of the art (HTML5, Javascript, cookies). The customer is responsible for the use of suitable software (eg browser, Internet access, virus protection).
3.3. Matplus strives to keep the database up to date. The database and the software used for the provision are subject to continuous technical and content maintenance, updating and further development.
3.4. Matplus is entitled to change and update the content of the database on an ongoing basis without notice. This also includes the right to complete data or data collections partially removed from the database.
3.5. The database is generally available 7 days a week x 24 hours a day. Availability is at least availability class 2 = 99%.
3.6. Matplus reserves the right to place advertising of any kind in the system environment of the database to a reasonable extent in a manner that is recognizable to the customer, both self-promotion and advertising by third parties.
4. Liability for defects, limitation of liability
The claims of the customer for damages or compensation for wasted expenses are regulated in the terms and conditions.
5. Copyright and usage rights
5.1. The databases of Matplus are protected by copyright. Matplus grants the customer a simple, non-exclusive, non-transferable and not sublicensable, limited to the duration of the Database User Agreement, where appropriate, with the number of personal workplaces agreed in the Database User Agreement, to use the respective database (hereafter ‘License’). The use of the license beyond that is not permitted.
5.2. The customer may use the database only for his own purposes. It is strictly prohibited to make the database accessible to unauthorized third parties or access data or database content or pass on parts thereof to unauthorized third parties.
5.3. A storage, digital archiving or printing of parts of the database is prohibited to the customer.
5.4. Excluded from 5.3 are project-related archiving of retrieved evaluations, illustrations, listings and other representations from the database, to the extent that this is done to an appropriate extent and for internal purposes.
5.5. The customer is not entitled to make changes to the excerpts from the database, in particular copyright notices, trademarks, serial numbers and / or to remove other features of the program identification from the contents and evaluations retrieved in the database.
